You will study child development, care and guidance of children, communication skills in working with parents and children, as well as methods of helping young children learn. Preparation for employment includes lectures, discussions, hands-on activities through labs and Work-Based Learning work experiences. 20 – 35 Transfer Agreements Professional Licensure and Certification Disclosure Employment: The Early Childhood Education curriculum prepares graduates to work with young children in child care programs, preschools, public and private schools, NC Pre-K and Head Start programs. Salary: Starting salaries can vary depending on the employment setting and geographical area, but the average salary range could be from $24,200 to $31,200. Employment in a state or federally funded program generally brings higher starting salaries.
